Pairing Your Bluetooth Voice Remote with the Onyx TV Box

Your Onyx TV Box comes with a powerful Bluetooth Voice Remote that allows for precise control, voice commands via Google Assistant, and even universal TV control. For the best experience, you'll need to pair it with your Onyx TV Box.

Why Pair? Unlike infrared (IR) remotes, a Bluetooth remote doesn't need to be pointed directly at the device. Pairing establishes a wireless connection that offers greater flexibility, responsiveness, and enables features like voice control.

Step 1: Prepare Your Devices

Make sure your Onyx TV Box is turned on and displaying the home screen. Confirm the TV Box is properly connected to your TV. Insert fresh batteries into your Bluetooth Voice Remote to ensure it has enough power for pairing.

Step 2: Locate Your Remote and Box

Keep the remote and the Onyx TV Box close to each other, ideally within about 1 foot (30 cm). Make sure you have a clear view of the Onyx TV Box screen during the pairing process.

Step 3: Activate Pairing Mode on Remote

Press and hold the “OK” (or central/select) button and the “VOL-” (volume down) button simultaneously on the remote. Watch for the small LED light on the remote to start blinking rapidly. Once it blinks rapidly, release both buttons immediately.

Step 4: Wait for Pairing Confirmation

The Onyx TV Box will automatically detect the remote and begin pairing. This process may take a few seconds. When pairing is successful, a confirmation message will appear on the TV screen.
