Program Guide (EPG) Button — Quick Reference

Purpose

Opens the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) so users can see schedules for live TV channels and plan viewing.

How it Works

• Press the Program Guide (EPG) button on the remote.

• The ONYX TV Box opens the EPG interface from the currently active TV app or the system guide.

• The guide displays channels versus time slots; selecting an entry shows details or starts playback/reminder actions.

How to Use

1. Press the dedicated Program Guide (EPG) button on your remote.

2. Use Up/Down Arrow Keys to move through channels and program rows.

3. Use Left/Right Arrow Keys to move across time slots.

4. Press OK/Enter on a program to view details, start watching (if currently live), or set a reminder/recording (if supported).

5. Press Back/Exit to return to the previous screen.

Navigation Tips

• Jump quickly between future time slots using page up/page down (if available) or Left/Right long-press.

• Sort or filter (if the app supports it) to show only favorites, genres, or HD channels.

• Open program details to see synopsis, duration, cast, and related content where available.

Additional Notes

• App dependency: The exact EPG layout, features (reminders, recordings, filters) and availability depend on the installed TV/EPG app or service.

• Data source: EPG entries rely on the provider’s schedule data — missing or incorrect listings come from the source.

• When already in EPG: pressing the button may refresh or refocus the guide to the current time/channel.

Troubleshooting Quick Steps

• EPG button does nothing:

  1. Ensure the TV/EPG app is installed and updated.

  2. Check remote pairing and battery level.

  3. Restart the device.

• Guide opens but shows incomplete listings:

  1. Verify network connection.

  2. Confirm the EPG data source with your provider.

  3. Update the EPG app or reload guide data if there is an option.

• Cannot set reminders or record:

  1. Confirm the app/service supports reminders/recordings and you have required permissions or subscription.

  2. Check storage availability for recordings.

  3. Update the app and device firmware.
