Toggles subtitles (closed captions) on or off so viewers can improve comprehension and accessibility instantly.
Press the CC button on the remote.
The TV Box sends a toggle command to the current app or playback engine.
Subtitles are enabled or disabled depending on the current state and the app’s support.
While playing content, press the CC button once to enable subtitles.
Press the CC button again to disable subtitles.
If the app supports multiple subtitle tracks or languages, open the app’s subtitle settings to choose the preferred language or style.
Use the app’s subtitle or closed caption menu to:
Select subtitle language (if multiple tracks available).
Adjust subtitle appearance (font size, color, background) where supported.
Turn on/off automatic subtitle options (e.g., captions for the deaf and hard of hearing).
App dependency: Some apps (YouTube, NOX App, Netflix, etc.) handle subtitles internally; the CC button may only toggle the app’s default caption behavior.
Content dependency: Not all content includes subtitle tracks—if no subtitles appear, the content may not provide them.
Accessibility features: For system-wide caption settings (style, size), check the ONYX TV Box accessibility settings.
For foreign-language audio, use the app’s subtitle language selection if available.
If captions appear out of sync, try pausing and resuming playback or restarting the app.
Use system accessibility settings to set default caption style across apps (if supported).
CC button does nothing:
Ensure the app and content support subtitles.
Check that the remote is paired and batteries are OK.
Restart the app or device.
Subtitles enabled but not visible:
Verify subtitle track/language is selected in the app.
Check subtitle style settings (color/background) that may make text invisible.
Update the app to the latest version.
Subtitles out of sync:
Pause and resume playback.
Close and reopen the app.
If the problem persists, try a different content source.
